Cai Guo-Qiang: Life is a Milonga

The great chinese artist Cai Guo Qiang presented his first exhibition in Argentina at Fundacion Proa, La Boca, called Impromptu.

Known as a man of “Fireworks”, this exhibition reflects an approach with some traditional manifestations of Argentinian culture: Tango for example…

Cai’s use of gunpowder has become central to his practice, leading to his experimentation with explosives and the development of his signature ignition events.

His gunpowder work, in addition to his repertoire of installations and social projects, draws upon Eastern philosophy, Maoist sentiment, and contemporary social issues.

Titled Life is a milonga: His artistic proposal integrated fireworks, music, dance, and audience participation.
